This week I had the strangest thing happen. On Monday, both of my eyes were scratchy and painful. On Tuesday and Wednesday, only one eye hurt and by Thursday it was all over. I mean, STRANGE! All I wanted to do was sleep, but that doesn't work well when you are teaching preschool! So I just muddled through and hoped it wasn't something like macular degeneration or whatever it's called. Since then I've decided it was an allergy. Very strange. What the heck is there to be allergic to in Utah?
The leaves are beginning to change in the mountains. They are pretty but you have to drive like 1/2 hour to go see them. I much prefer the beauty of fall in NJ. There, you just look out your window at the most breathtaking leaves you can imagine. Utah just doesn't compare. But the Utah winters are gorgeous!
The other day we got a phone message from our granddaughter, Lilly. It said "Grandma, Granpa! Grandma, Grandpa! Call back!" I wish I could put her cute little voice on this blog. It was sooooo cute! Lilly is talking better each time we see her. She lights up our lives with her sweet ways.
We were thinking of maybe going to NJ for Thanksgiving, but it will cost us about $1200 with airfare, hotels and car rental. No can do right now. Jesse, Karina and Lilly will be going to Karina's Mom's this year for dinner and a family reunion. Maybe Christie and Travis will get to come up. Otherwise, I guess we'll be either eating at home or maybe going to Don's brother's or something for dinner, which would be fun, too!

The vines on my fence outside my scrapbook room turn the most beautiful, brilliant colors in the fall.--so did our tree out front until Steve trimmed it too much and killed it last year. N.J. is so green that I'm sure it is beautiful in the fall...but we're glad you're here. By the way, there's lots to be allergic to in Utah. My eyes sting in April and again in September. It was so good to see you last Sunday. love you!
Really, Susan? I guess it just doesn't seem like there's much here to be allergic to.
Someday maybe I'll get to see the leaves outside your scrapbook room. I think the problem is there aren't very many big, old trees in Lehi. Salt Lake is much prettier to me.
It was great to see you too! How's the baby?
I don't think it is macular degeneration, but there are always perfumes, detergents, bugs, and other things to be allergic to. I hope it is just a one time thing.
I love the fall! We drove back from Ohio and saw them all the way through PA. We're going to be in UT visiting Thom's family for Thanksgiving this year.
