New Furniture

We broke down and bought new furniture last Saturday, and it was delivered this Saturday. Our old family room set was banished to the upstairs, taken up by the wonderful guys who delivered the new stuff. That was no small feat, as that couch and loveseat was HEAVY! Don and Jesse and Karina moved the big screen tv that we've had for 8 years now to the upstairs, too. I watched Lilly, so I did my part! Downstairs we have a new beige microfiber couch, loveseat and chair, all recliners. They are heavenly. We also got a new plasma tv and a beautiful base for it. We love everything we got, and it makes our family room look so good. Our old set was just shot. We bought it when Jesse was halfway through his mission (summer of 2001) and we sat on it, shocked, to watch tv coverage on Sept. 11, 2001, so it has nostalgic value to us. I'm glad we were able to get the guys to move it upstairs so we weren't forced to throw it out. Thanks also to Jesse and Karina for helping move the tv! It was HEAVY and BULKY! You guys are great!

Sounds great, Pat. We'll have to have another party to sit on the new furniture. Isn't it just so much fun to get new things.

It's funny but true that furniture holds so many memories it's hard to let go of. Glad you had room to keep your old set. I know I never want to give up our loveseat in the basement that Carter always called "the mommy chair." I spent a lot of time in it when my arthritis was really really bad and he'd cuddle up with me and we'd read books for hours.

doesn't it feel great to have new stuff though?! Love it!
