Today would have been my sister Nanci's 50th birthday. 50! I remember when she was born. I was 8 years old. She was the cutest little baby, with brown eyes and brown hair. She was the only one of my siblings with brown eyes. What a novelty she was, and it was wonderful to not be an only child anymore. Nanci was born 3 years after my brother Jimmy died, and we really welcomed and loved her. Since she died at age 18 (almost 19) she will be forever young in our memories, but had she lived...wow, 50! Happy Birthday in heaven, Nanci! I love you and we all remember you and think and speak of you often!
Last week in preschool, one of my student's parents, who shall remain nameless, came in to school and told the director that another parent had lost his job. So my parent and her husband wanted to pay for two months' tuition for this parent who had lost his job! Isn't that amazing? I am truly moved by the generosity these people showed, especially at this time of year when things are so tight for everybody. There is goodness in the world and some of it is alive and well in Saratoga Springs.

What a beautiful post. In these difficult times it's such a great reminder of the goodness people are capable of. So wonderful.
Happy birthday to your sis. She was about 8 months older than me. Also, what sweet people to pay for the tuition of that child. That is a great Christmas post
Pat, it was fun reading your blog. I am not very good at it yet, but I love doing the backgrounds and making my own headers! Have a Happy New Year and hopefully we will see you sometime again this year! (I added your blog to my list, so if you don't want it there, let me know and I will remove it.) Love, Kathryn
