Brittney

Many of you know about my friend Brittney who has been battling cancer. She lost her battle last night and died at her home. She leaves behind her husband Steve and three children who are 7, 5 and 3. We are all so sad about this. She battled cancer for about 6 years maybe. She had a pediatric cancer (a tumor in her knee) that was discovered shortly after the birth of her second child, and that was successfully taken care of through chemo and surgery. She had a miracle pregnancy for her third child, and was on cloud nine at the birth of her first son, but the cancer returned about a month after he was born. Since then she had several courses of chemo, several surgeries and even experimental treatment. But the cancer, when it returned, was in her lung and her bones and she just couldn't beat it, even with the expert care at the Huntsman Medical Institute. She fought it so hard.....I guess Hevenly Father just had different plans for her. I struggle to know why she had to leave her little babies. I'm sure her family does too...but she left behind a great legacy. She was so determined to beat the cancer and almost always had a smile on her face. Rest in peace, Brittney. We will not forget you.

Oh Pat, I am so sorry for your loss and for those little children's loss. I will keep them in my prayers, but have faith that Heavenly Father must have had great plans for your friend.

It's truly a tragedy and it's just not something I can comprehend. It doesn't make any sense and I just try to trust in the plan of salvation and God's timing. My thoughts and prayers are with her family and all who were touched by her personality and battle against cancer.

All we can do, really, is rely on our faith that she is in a better place and that her family will be taken care of. Please keep Steve, Harmony, Brynn and Boston in your prayers. Oh, and her mother, whose name I never did know. Thanks everybody.

Oh Man, that is so sad. I always wonder why Mom's or Dad's have to die when they have young kids.

That's so sad. I hope everyone in the family gets the support they need.

Brittney came from a great family and they've been such a support over the last five years that I'm sure they will continue to be a support to her husband and children. There are many, many concerned people who will help out too. Of course nobody ever takes the place of a mom or dad...but there will be some good come out of this, I'm sure.

Dear Pat, I know how you feel. We just lost our lifelong friend to lung cancer. At least Jimmy lived a longer life than your friend. But we know that Heavenly Father is taking care of them.
