Blessings, vacation, health

We have our tickets and also our hotel reservations. Thanks to Alexis for helping us out with those! We just have to arrange for a car rental and cat placement and we're set! I'm getting excited and right now I'm not even scared about flying. Of course that will change as the time gets closer.

We traded in our two cars (2002 Taurus and 1999 Durango) on one car (2009 Ford Escape) a week or so ago. It seemed the proper thing to do with the Taurus needing work and not passing inspection, and there being only one driver in the house now. I love the new car, it's great, gets good gas mileage and is fun to drive. It's big enough to haul a few things but not huge. I'm really glad we did it!

Lately we've had some real, tangible blessings and I'm so grateful! First Travis got the internship in Phoenix with Samsung. Then Jesse was offered a new job after a year of looking! It's in Orem and it's more money and it has benefits! We are so happy for him and Karina. This means they will be able to have some coverage when the baby comes and also be able to buy a house in the near future. What a great thing! I'm very happy about all these blessings!

Don has passed his one year mark since the stroke. That is a big deal because there's more of a chance of recurrance with a stroke for the first year. He's doing really well, other than not being able to drive, and is feeling well. He tires more easily now and I think his emotions are closer to the surface due to the meds he takes, but those are a small price to pay for the continuing pleasure of having him still with us with his mind and body pretty much intact. I can't imagine life without my wonderful husband and I'm glad he's still with me!

We put new doors in the condo last weekend (well, Home Depot did) and this past weekend we painted all of them and did most of the trim. We'll finish next Saturday. It really looks nice! It should help the condo sell better when the time comes, too. That will be a good thing.

I hope everybody reading this is doing well! Love you all!

It was great hearing how you are doing. I hope you have a great trip back East. Travis and Christie seem happy and he is doing well with his internship, although I get the sense that he is ready to finish school and start working in the real world. I am so happy your son found a job and things are going well for them. Your new car sounds great. We are thinking of getting a pickup pretty soon since the car my husband drives is about shot! Have a great summer! Now that we are back from Hawaii maybe I will get my blog updated! Actually that is a BIG maybe! Take care! Love, Kathryn

Life is good, isn't it? I'm glad Don is doing as well as he is. We are starting to fight the Lyme Disease battle but your blog helps me to keep that longer term perspective, which I need to get me through.

Dubby, Lyme Disease is so awful. I hope David gets over it soon!

Natalie, when are you coming to Utah?

Glad to hear Don is doing okay. Bummer on the blind spot, but it could be worse. And double-bummer on the persistent foot problem. But congrats on the anniversary, and good luck on the trip.
