Vacation

We left a week ago and drove to New Harmony, Utah, and spent the night with Don's sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Rod Griffin. After a great breakfast we left and drove the rest of the way to Arizona, arriving around dinnertime in Mesa. We went to our hotel and then over to see Travis and Christie. It was so great to see Christie. She came out to greet us (Travis wasn't home yet) and she looked great, older and more mature. We all trekked off to Boston Market for dinner, brought it home and ate it while watching "The Office".

We didn't do much while there except eat out, and visit. On Sat. night we made a Thanksgiving meal since we won't be able to get together for Thanksgiving this year. On Sunday we had dinner at Travis's parents house and then came home and made spaghetti sauce from scratch. Now they have five containers of homemade spaghetti sauce in their freezer. That makes the Italian part of me very happy!

We got to go to their ward on Sunday, and I loved it! It's an older building with older people. Not too many babies, so it was quiet. It really made me year for our New Jersey years.

We left on Monday and of course I cried and cried. But I'm grateful to have seen where they live and how they live. They are so happy together and are facing life's challenges as one unit. I love them both so much!

aaawww, Pat, how sad to have to leave Christie. I'm glad they are doing so well. At least they are not clear across the country. = )
