Yay! Thanks to Karina I can now update my blog. Duh, the reason I couldn't is because I was using the wrong email address to sign in. Honestly...technology! Why can't I be better at it?
We have been struggling for three months with Don's foot, ankle and leg. Back in early Feb. he took a drug called Aldera for his precancerous spots on his face. We don't know if he had a problem with this drug, but in late Feb. his leg, ankle and foot swelled up badly. After two leg ultrasounds (looking for blood clots), an xray (looking for a fracture), a heart echocardiogram and ultrasound (looking for heart disease), his foot and ankle and toes are still swollen. He's been taking a water pill and potassium for three months now. He finally went to a podiatrist who sent him for two MRIs last week and put him on another drug. He apparently had a side effect from that drug which has resulted in a four day migraine with vision disturbance. He's been so sick. He came home from work today right after arriving there because he couldn't even see the computer screen. The pharmacist said he should go off that last drug and take excedrin and coke. So that's what he's doing, and he does feel better tonight.
In the meantime, on Memorial Day, Sox the stupid cat nipped at Lilly. He didn't hurt her, but he scared her, and Jesse and Don went off in pursuit of him in retaliation. They both got bitten by Sox and Don ended up at the Instacare for a tetanus shot and antibiotic after his hand started swelling and hurting. That was just before he went to the podiatrist. So he's had so many drugs in his system that it's not funny! Sox has been losing weight and we don't know what's wrong with him (even the vet doesn't know) but it's probably safe to say he is dying. So when Jesse and Don picked him up roughly I'm sure it really hurt and that's why he bit them. Now whenever Lilly comes over we have to put Sox in the garage. We can't trust him to be around her anymore. Sweet Lilly called to see if Sox was still mad after he bit her daddy and grandpa. I thought that was very cute.
School is out for the summer! I'm working maybe 2 days a week in the office helping clean up things and get ready for fall, but I'm enjoying the rest of my time off so much! There are many things I need to do here at the house. I'm also looking forward to going to Scottsdale in July and spending a week there. Jesse, Karina and Lilly are also coming and we hope to see lots of Christie and Travis. We'll be celebrating Jesse's 28th birthday there as well.
I am still doing Wii Fit and have lost 8 lbs. so far and my BMI is going down as well. I look forward to the workouts and am happy with my success so far!
If you follow my Facebook, you know I was pretty hooked on Adam Lambert to become the next American Idol, but he didn't win. I was so upset. He was clearly the best talent this year. I am excited to see him in concert with the rest of the Idols in July here in Utah.
I also had an experience where I told a (now former) friend in NJ that I wasn't for gay marriage and I got labeled a bigot, narrow-minded, hateful, etc. It was an extremely upsetting thing to happen. I am disturbed by all the evil in the world today and how people think "good is evil, and evil is good". Needless to say, I am no longer interested in keeping up with the life of this former friend, especially knowing how hateful and bigoted she thinks I am.
That's all that's been going on, I think. I plan to update more often now that I remember how! Thanks, Karina! Thanks to everybody for reading my blog. Love you all!
That's about it for now.

So nice to catch up on all that has been going on! So sorry to hear that the hubby's foot and ankle are still acting up. I have to say though that I wish my prescriptions were to drink coke! But in all seriousness I am sorry you guys are going through so much with the medical issues of both hubby and Sox. I know it's so emotional and expensive on top of it all! Sending loving thoughts your way!
I'm so sorry about the hateful and bigoted remarks, which are themselves hateful and bigoted. How sad! They are just repeating what the media says, and don't take the time to really think it out and understand.
This person is totally convinced that my view is wrong, and will not even allow me to have an opinion. She said I might as well learn to keep my view to myself, because "enlightened people" do not agree with me. It was such an awful experience. I don't think I'm bigoted, and don't even think it makes sense to use the word bigoted in regards to not agreeing with same sex marriage. I thought bigoted referred to hatred of a certain race. What happened to be being able to speak your mind in America?
Isn't it terrible Pat? The hate that comes from a group that calls us hateful? It's pretty amazing to me. To have values these days,
is going to take strong people. You can hear what the media feeds to people, when they speak their "hateful" minds. So SAD
I agree! One of my missionary mom friends called it "cold hate" and I think she's right. This former friend dealt with my opinion in an attitude of cold hate. I'm trying really hard to be strong and stand up for the values I believe in, but it's sure hard. I guess we all have to be extra-strong these days. Hope I'm up to it. Hope my children (and yours) and our grandchildren are, too.
I guess this is what we get for "tolerating" what for centuries has been considered an abominable perversion. I can't help but compare the homosexual (I refuse to use the word 'gay' because it tends to lend legitimacy to the perversion) rights movement to the story about the camel who asked to put just his nose under the edge of the tent. Now we are being crowded out by the camel. Tsk, tsk...
